Through their career, Dimmu Borgir has always evolved in their style, that is to say perfecting their music without losing their Black Symphonic spirit. Enthrone Darkness Triumphant therefore follows this evolution, only one year after their highly appreciated full length Stormblast, by offering us a style still very melodic and nostalgic by accentuating more the Heavy side with scratches more present than on the last one.
This album is a perfect demonstration of dark melodies and symphonic compositions. This album is further different by the use of english language (the Norwegians wrote in their native language on the previous albums). Which unfortunately removes this very guttural side that goes so well with their works.
What else to say, otherwise? Everyone knows that it is from this album that the Black Metal scene (Norwegian, in particular) will copiously vilify and mock the band…
