Thy Darkened Shade Liber Lvcifer I Review

Posted on January 22, 2015May 18, 2022 By blackmetaltv No Comments on Thy Darkened Shade Liber Lvcifer I Review

Liber Lvcifer I is the second full length by Greek Blackers Thy Darkened Shade. Liber Lvcifer… is an album that we could have fun talking about for hours, which I am not looking to do here. Those who already know this band with their first album “Eternvs Mos, Nex Ritvs” know that they have a different skill for writing and arrangements, while entering into a rather detailed ritualistic concept and perfectly transcribed into music with in particular choirs and mantras.

Compared to their first album, TDS has kept its sharp and brilliantly executed riffing, with the same completely stunning thrash and melodic touches. Clearly, they present themselves as a new band of Greek black metal wave, having evolved the 90s formula towards a more modern form which frankly deviates from the Frostian roots of the style.

Fast tempo and evil riffs, mid tempo and elaborate arpeggios, some passages in clean sound, complementarity of guitar and bass lines, clean/screaming vocal duality, TDS knows how to do everything and does it very well every time.

There. For the rest, you have to bend over and take the time to enjoy this album of incredible richness, which has both an immediate side with a multitude of appreciable riffs immediately and a great depth which guarantees a consistent lifespan over a period of time.

A real masterpiece of Hellenic Black Metal.
